If you’re missing Caitriona Balfe’s voice, check out Angela’s Christmas Wish on Netflix

It’s December, Outlander fans, and that means lots of Christmas specials are coming out. There’s a new one on Netflix that Caitriona Balfe has lent her voice to called Angela’s Christmas Wish.

This is not the first time that Caitriona has done voiceover work. She played Tavra in The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance series, also on Netflix. She voices the mom of Dorothy, a little girl who joins Angela and her brother on their adventure, in Angela’s Christmas Wish.

The special was created by Frank McCourt and written by Damien O’Connor and is a sequel to Angela’s Christmas. Other voices include Ruth Negga and Moe Dunford as Angela’s mother and father. Irish Film and TV Net tweeted that Angela’s Christmas Wish will be coming to RTE One in Ireland on Christmas Day.

Angela’s Christmas Wish is a great watch if you have kids or just like a heartwarming story

The story starts out in Limerick, Ireland in 1913. Young Angela goes with her family to the docks to bid goodbye to her father, who is leaving to work in Australia. She is too young and too caught up in her toy to really understand what is going on. Two years pass. It is Christmas Eve, and Angela is very excited about the Christmas surprise her mother is planning.

Despite the surprise, Angela’s mother seems preoccupied. Angela and her brothers have a talk and decide it’s because she misses their dad. So Angela and one of her brothers set off on an adventure to bring him home from Australia for Christmas.

There are some truly cute moments in this Christmas special. They find out that Australia is only four pages from Ireland in the atlas so it must not be more than an hour by train! If you’re a softie like me, you may be shedding a few tears by the end. [Source]

Caitriona Balfe has announced that her Forget Me Not Scottish gin is now available to buy.

The Irish actress, who plays lead Claire Randall/Fraser in the show, first announced plans for Forget Me Not Gin this summer in a bid to support the arts and “acknowledge the positive contribution creative industries make to society”.

Speaking about the launch this week she thanked everyone who managed to buy a bottle already.

Speaking on Twitter she said: “I am so excited to announce that our limited edition first batch is on sale now. The launch went phenomenally and we do have a few bottles and anyone who wants to buy one of those should go to Forgetmenot.com.”

The gin is currently only on offer for those in the UK and the EU, but the Irish actress added that they are hoping to get it out to other international markets very soon.

She had previously spoken about how the “very special product” has combined her love of “collaborating with friends, drinking and finding ways to support” the beleaguered artistic community.

The special spirit is described as a “smooth botanical gin” distilled in the Highlands of Scotland – though the distillery hasn’t been named.

The clip shows Claire and Jamie discussing young Ian’s return to the Ridge.

As the coronavirus pandemic continues to impact the entertainment industry, Outlander fans are bracing themselves for an extra-long Droughtlander—that dreaded period between new seasons of the TV series—ahead of season six.

While new episodes have been confirmed by Starz, it’s unclear how long production will take, given the ongoing global health crisis.

But fortunately this morning, we can offer a bit of relief by way of an exclusive deleted scene from season five, which aired earlier this year. In the clip above, which will be included in the collectors edition of the season, but is premiering on T&C today, Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan) discuss their nephew young Ian’s return to their community on Fraser’s Ridge after having lived for an extended period with the Mohawk Native Americans.
