Written and directed by Kenneth Branagh, “Belfast” tells the semi-autobiographical story of Buddy (Jude Hill), a young boy who lives in Northern Ireland during the tumultuous late 1960s. Alongside his working-class family that includes his parents (Jamie Dornan and Balfe) and grandparents (Ciarán Hinds and Judi Dench), the family faces life lessons and decisions that could break the family apart. The film has received critical acclaim after premiering at the Telluride Film Festival and has won multiple audience prizes on the festival circuit. At the moment, “Belfast” is one of the leading contenders for the Oscars in multiple categories including supporting actress for Balfe.

Project CaiTREEna was founded last year by a group of women who met over social media during the global pandemic as a result of their mutual appreciation for actress Caitríona Balfe (Outlander, Belfast, Ford v Ferrari). They were inspired by Caitríona’s philanthropic spirit and wanted to make a positive impact on our planet, while honoring Caitríona and her October 4th birthday.

Many more of Caitríona’s fans and co-stars joined in and what started as 410 trees turned into a “Balforest” of over 55,000 trees! Now it has become a yearly initiative with the goal of driving positive change by funding reforestation through One Tree Planted to areas around the world. Project CaiTREEna will run each October.

Please join us this year in celebrating the amazing Caitríona Balfe and growing the already impactful global “Balforest” even bigger!

If you want to help and participate, you can go here and give a great birthday’s gift to Cait!!!

Monaghan actress Caitriona Balfe has announced the birth of her baby son.

Balfe plays Claire Fraser in the Starz drama series Outlander, for which she has been nominated four times for a Golden Globe, won two People’s Choice Awards, two Saturn Awards, and an Irish Film and Television Award.

Making the announcement of her new arrival on social media, the former Victoria Secret’s model said: ‘I’ve been off socials for a while as I was taking some time to enjoy cooking up this little human …. We are so grateful for this little soul ….that he chose us as his parents.

“I’m in awe of him already and can’t help stare and wonder at all the possibilities of who he will become, where he will go and what he’ll do on the big adventure of his life.

“Right now he seems so small and fragile and I constantly think how grateful I am that I live in a place, in a time where he is born into peace and safety and yet at the same time I see so many in the world right now that aren’t afforded that same privilege and opportunity … who are born into famine or war and how unjust it is that the same safety isn’t there for all children.

“Here in the west we have so much, we are so lucky and so if you’d like to join me in supporting any of the wonderful charities that need help trying to give those that are forgotten dignity and hope, we can give the gift of peace and safety and opportunity to a few more children … @wchildcancer @chooselove @unicef @refugees.” she added.

Outlander fans rejoice! The series is heading to New York Comic Con this fall.

The show’s Twitter page announced the news, tweeting, “You heard it here first: #Outlander is headed to @NY_Comic_Con! Tickets go on sale July 11. Visit newyorkcomiccon.com for more information.” The news comes shortly after the first photos for Season 6 were unveiled by Starz which also teased the show’s 2022 return date.

This would mark Outlander‘s third time at the event after making appearances in 2018 and 2019. No stars have been announced for the presentation yet, but in the past leads Caitriona Balfe and Sam Heughan have been reliable participants along with costars Sophie Skelton and Richard Rankin.

As teased by the show, tickets will go on sale in less than a month on Sunday, July 11 for the convention. Outlander is slated to make an appearance on Saturday, October 9, the third day of a four-day extravaganza in New York City which takes place Thursday, October 7 through Sunday, October 10.

Most events take place at the Javits Center, although 2019’s cast panel was conducted at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden. The NYCC appearance should excite fans whether they can attend or not because it will likely include new looks at Season 6.

Stay tuned for additional details about the show’s NYCC appearance in the weeks ahead and check out tickets via the convention’s official site. [Source]

The Outlander stars’ filmographies continue to grow. Caitriona Balfe has another period drama in the works. She’s reportedly set to star in Pride and Prejudice on Netflix.

According to Pioneer Scoop, Caitriona Balfe has another project in the works. Just like her Outlander co-star Sam Heughan, she’s working on growing her filmography while still working on the STARZ series.

Balfe will reportedly star in Netflix’s Pride and Prejudice adaptation that is set to star Lily James in the lead role. It’s not yet clear who Balfe will play on the series, but she could be one of the sisters or a member of the High Society. Helena Bonham Carter and Eleanor Tomlinson are also reported to star in the series.

There is very little known about the adaptation so far. Only Pioneer Scoop is reporting the news, which makes it much harder to get all the information in place and confirm the truth.

What does Caitriona Balfe in Pride and Prejudice mean for Outlander?

Of course, when we find out that one of the Outlander stars is connected to another show or movie, it’s common to worry about what it means for our series. Surely the leads landing other roles means there’s a risk of Outlander coming to an end.

The two leads routinely state that they’re in Outlander until the end. The other projects are done when Outlander isn’t filming. We know that Heughan’s upcoming movie Everest will start filming n January 2022. Pride and Prejudice started filming in May 2021, although Balfe wouldn’t have been fully available until recently when Outlander Season 6 filming wrapped.

There’s no reason to worry about the stars leaving our series just yet. Not only are they under contract, but they are fully committed to the series for as long as it takes to finish up the story of Claire and Jamie.

Pride and Prejudice is set to release on Netflix sometime in 2022.
