On May 13, Caitriona Balfe attended the Virgin TV British Academy Television Awards at The Royal Festival Hall on Sunday in London, England.
During the ceremony, Caitriona and her Outlander co-star Sam Heughan,presented an award to Basquiat: Rage to Riches. The docu is about the life of American artist Jean-Michel Basquiat, whose work is currently the subject of an exhibition at the Barbican in London.
Balfe, Heughan and their show have yet to receive nominations from BAFTA TV Awards. In 2016, Balfe and Heughan were nominated for Best Actress and Best Actor respectively in the BAFTA Scotland Awards. Balfe won the award.
Over the three seasons of Outlander, they earned five Golden Globe nominations including the Best Drama Series and Best Drama Actress for Balfe. It has won several awards from the People’s Choice Awards and Critics’ Choice TV Awards. The series also received three nominations for the Emmys for music composition in 2015 and costumes and production design in 2016. So far, Emmy nods remain elusive for both Balfe and Heughan.
